How Ron Paul isnt’ Like Sen. Bernie Sanders: Destroying the Myth They are Alike

Many people were posting comments like the one above in a Facebook post from Ron Paul. What is even sadder is it is not uncommon to hear this from former Ron Paul supporters. They somehow equate Ron Paul to Bernie Sanders because of some superficial agreements.

A deeper look at both’s ideologies reveal that they disagree vehemently on almost everything. This idea that Bernie Sanders is anything like Ron Paulhas to be dispelled.

Ron Paul is for private property and against government interference. Bernie Sanders is against private property and for government interference in a multitude of cases.

Libertarianism vs. Authoritarianism

Liberty vs. Enslavement

These comparisons are apt to describe Ron Paul, a staunch libertarian, vs. Bernie Sanders, a self-proclaimed socialist.

There really is not anything more to say then this: Ron Paul supports private property, i.e. the Libertarian Ethic, and Bernie Sanders supports government interference, i.e. the antithesis of private property and liberty.

The proof is in the pudding. Ron Paul voted “No” on numerous bills that would have infringed upon property rights, while Bernie Sanders calls for even higher taxes and more regulations. It does not get much simpler than that to prove that they are not the same; they aren’t even in the same ball park as each other.

Additionally, if you are one of those who switched from being a private property libertarian to a socialist when Bernie became a presidential candid, then you never were really a libertarian. Any person with a basic understanding of libertarianism could show why his ethical and economic positions are incorrect.

If you are one of those Ron Paul-turned-Bernie Sanders supporters, I can only say and recommend this:
